Opposing Hearts Activity Worksheet

The Opposing Hearts activity was created to help students pause and reflect on the difference between natural human reactions and the way God calls us to love. It’s simple in design, but meaningful in impact.
Sometimes the hardest part of faith isn’t knowing what’s right—it’s noticing what’s actually happening in our hearts.
Using a heart visual divided into sections, students are invited to identify attitudes that don’t reflect God’s heart—things like irritation, pride, harshness, or impatience—and then replace them with words that describe God’s way of love, such as compassion, kindness, peace, humility, and patience.
This isn’t a test. It’s an invitation.
Why This Activity Works
Opposing Hearts creates space for quiet honesty without forcing personal sharing. It helps students name what they feel while gently guiding them toward what God desires for their hearts.
Because the activity is visual and reflective, it works well for:
independent work
small group discussion
devotion or journal time
calm moments that need structure without pressure
There are no “perfect” answers—only opportunities to grow.
